On A Clear Day

Charles Edward York

On a clear day I can see you

Forever hand in hand

Walking together

Two faces in one

Directed elsewhere

And your pulse

Echoes mine

In soft ripples

Passing slowly in time.

On a pure heart I can feel you

Perpetual motion

Traveling together

Two broken lives

Brought to be

A spiritual bowl

Reassembled

Gold painted lacquer

In an emotional bond.

Across the firmament of sky

Butterflies lift you

Heaven bound

In my dreams

Where you reside

Breast of my breast

There you are

Always where I go

As I must without you alone.
