Winter
Winter came like
a silent thief
stealing branches
of every leaf
robbing the greenery
leaving barren fields
causing songbirds
to flee far afield
the earth to hardened
underneath my feet
and drain my soul of
contentment complete
and like winter’s chill
you stole the passion
from my beating heart
in a bitter cold fashion
with the bitter wind
blowing cold
from the iciness
of your soul
how lonely
you must feel
having no more
warmth to steal
I must find a way
that I can start
to reignite an ember
in your heart
and from that ember
stoke a fire there
because dear one
somehow I still care

Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart...
In the Winter of my years Springtime still resides.
Ty _/\_:) I quite liked the opening lines.
