Epiphany for Emily

Edthepoet

Some say love it is an angel
Some say love, a firey ring
And when I Walked past, it
Postured playfully
Dragged my being to the depths
Of everything I couldn't be
Then it spat me out
My sweet realease
My feigned regret
My epiphany for Emily

I was the one
Who made the blind girl see
Blood my eyelids, blood my cheeks
My first kill
Was who I was never supposed to be
But you'll be happy now
You'll be happy now
You'll be happy Emily.

Some say love it is an angel
Some say love, a firey ring
And when I Walked past, it
Postured provocatively
Flew my being to the flame
Of everything I didn't believe
Then it put me out
My sweet deceit
My feigned intent
My epiphany for Emily

Was I the one
Who made the blind girl see?
Blood my eyelids, blood my cheeks
My last kill
Who was I ever supposed to be?
But were you happy then
Were you happy then
Were you happy Emily?
