Magic

James Alexander

Magic

Do you ever wish to see me again

or was I just a moment in time?

You have your life

and I have mine.

When by chance we meet

and with just one glance

memory of affection

makes a heart dance.

But is our racing hearts

moved by happiness,

fear of nothing to say

or a fear to caress?

Hesitant to reach out

to touch, embrace

or press lips to kiss

for fear of a mistake.

Have we become strangers,

aquaintances, friends?

Should we reach an effort

and try to make amends?

Are we too shy to reach out

or have we become too jaded?

Is it fear of rejection

or has the magic faded?
