Tae an Honest Fiere O Mine

Gerry Dee

The bells have tolled it's now twenty two, twenty one has gaun,
so a Happy New Year and here's ma haun,
ma trusty fiere, may ye get aw ye wish fur and may ye get some merr,
and spend it wi people who truly care
especially aboot ye and know your pain,
and no the fair weathered wans ye see noo and again.
And even though the past has gaun,
ne'er firget who stretched oot their haun,
in times of trouble, sorrow and pain,
keep the past under wraps, where it cannot gain
a haud of your new year and future tae come,
and lang may yer future reek just like yer lum.
Think of me as part of the gang
who stretched oot their haun and helped ye alang
wi last years trials of joy and despair,
and ah'll walk aside ye fur many merr.
So ma trusty fiere, may yer eggs be double yoakit,
and don't let the fair weathered wans get intae your poakit.
Ma haun tae you and twenty two, and twenty three and twenty four,
to the thirties, and forties and many more.
Have a Guid yin, oh honest fiere o mine,
I wish ye guid cheer and auld lang syne.

I think I pronounced most words correctly! Happy New Year.

      Rozina.
It's the first form.of expression that I have uploaded and it's on my native Scottish dialect and you have grabbed it. You are an extraordinary poet. I love your work.

Diamonds sparkle and Gold reflects, and you are the literary genius that the world expects....

Wow! As a novice poet, I'm flying through the clouds reading your words! Thank you.
