The sun rises slowly
deliberately
to illuminate a dark sarcophagus
of fractured dreams
disconnected
seemingly random
indistinct moments vying
to make sense of the night
to make sense of the life
now stirring
reluctantly
desperately grasping somnolence
Eyes open to a dim corner
three lines connecting
structured
a containment for lost dreams
the warmth of slumber
a soft embrace
fleeing
as reality materializes
into conscious starkness
brilliance
and hard lines
accentuated by a screaming clock

I love the lines “the warmth of slumber, a soft embrace, fleeing, as reality materializes”… well written!
Thank you for reading.
Nice, liking this. Also, your formatting got me from the beginning 🙂 Really lovely set out.
Thank you again Draven. You are too kind.
Masterfully written here Eugene S, with your words, you certainly paint an emphatic scene!
Bravo, and I hope that all is well!
Thank you for reading.
this is a well written piece that perfectly the describes the longing to stay snuggled warm in bed and delay starting another day of stark reality as long as one possibly can (which is almost every day for me ;)) I really loved the 3rd stanza, especially the line 'desperately grasping somnolence'...Really very well written!
Thank you for your kind critique.
You're most welcome 🙂
