Mourning Years

Sweetpea23

I wish for love

But I all received was sorrow and….

A grand sadness.

My eyes grow heavy

As the wind rushes past me.

I run from mirrors as I escape the grim reaper kiss

Stand on the edge of tomorrow.

I wander for these old halls

filled the memories of lesser years.

The pain creeps in with the joyful images of yesterday

I take my heart and stand on stone of nostalgia

Oh my memories have fallen to the earth below

I am a fool for having hope kiss my lips as it breaks my heart

I am me and I look toward tomorrow.

Wishing for something that is dead

Crying for the past that I lost in the storm of time

I can’t remember what loved felt like

As the storm grows as the years march on

Disaster pushes my back and destruction stabs my heart

Sickness surrounds my memories of gold

I am a phantom that cries sorrowful tears

A broken mind wanders to the past filled with a bright empathic light.

A broken time wishes for flowers to bloom in winter.

A broken world of forgotten love.
