We Know Not

danielgardiner22

There is a monster we know not.

Yet, the most dangerous of all.

Once they have you,

You’re as well as naught.

With its many shapes,

From sharp edges

To smoke rising to the skies.

Both as dangerous as the other.

Most don’t get why.
Why does it kill?

Why does it feel good?

Why can’t you just stop?

The answer to these,

Are just simply one in the same.

Once the monster has you,

The fight to stop is nearly impossible.

There is hope.

Hope that shines.

The soul will never stop shining,

That vibrant, deep purple glow.

Keep fighting that dark monster.

The one that took away many.

The one that still takes.

Fight till it’s just a faint purple glow.
