So Beautiful

Charles Edward York

So beautiful words fall so short

Only eyes, lips and hands will do

Ceaselessly celebrating you

You are so alluring, so naturally pure

It’s hard to believe

You were created on Earth

Instead of floating from Heaven

You have bewitched my heart,

This lowly soul singing

Praise for answered prayer.

Hearing you just may as well be

Composing a cacophony of music

Or ideas of spontaneous invention

Stirring new sensations,

Revolutionizing the world

Awakening feelings,

Inspiring the masses,

Healing the broken hearted

And compelling captains

Towards brighter horizons.

Thank the highest realms you are

The most amazing child all grown up

Friend and foe alike fall on knees,

Turn from appointed rounds

And follow you faithfully

Alight with love,

Professing passions

For acts of peace

And kindness resembling

Everything beautiful like you.
