Rain

Michael J. Schaeffer

Rain

12/19/21

I Stayed Awake All Last Night. Or Maybe I Woke Up Early in the Morning. But I was Listening to the Rain Coming Down. It Rained all Night I Think Perhaps. It would Pause at Times, but Mainly the Night Sky was Washing Everything Clean. The Grass, the Trees and All the Birds. Everything was Cleansed and Bright. Glossy and New. I Find the Lord Funny at Times. Nothing Stops Him. He Moves and We Sit and Wait. The Teacher and the Student. The Sun and the Earth. The Solar System and the Universe. Night and Day. Good and Bad. I Still Can't Stop and Think of the Opposite Sex. I am a Man and I'm Still Waiting for Another Woman. A New Beginning. A New Day. Another Time for My Night to End. My Moon to Sleep and My Sun to Rise. The Day My Sunlight Rises I Shall Never Let Go. Like a Enchanting Spell. Like a Waltz of a Dance. A Perfect Kiss with a Strange Lover. A New Romance to Appear. Watching a New Sunrise. To Simply Hug. To Simply Kiss. I was Awake Last Night. I was Thinking of the Moon, the Earth and the Universe. I have Felt the Bad and Tasted the Good. I can only Hope the Rain will Wash My Sad Colors Away, but Not Completely. I Want to Remember My Pain like a Military Decoration. Like a Silver Star or like a Bronze Star. As I want to Some Day Walk Straight Out of these Dark Times...
