Naive

EKAnonymous

It all started with a text,
And my feelings for you were unperplexed,
You were my motivation,
The answer to my calculation

I must’ve been so naive,
When you said you wouldn’t leave,
I always believed you when you’d promise,
I never knew love would hurt like this

You made my heart skip a beat,
Seeing you happy without me is bittersweet,
This is a pain I could not apprehend,
Because even you left in the end

  • Comment from author about the poem: After losing so many people in my life, they came into my life and promised a future with me. Despite giving them every piece of me, they still left at the first hurdle and made me feel more alone than ever
