Dawn

James Alexander

Dawn

Come greet the dawn

my chirpy little one

fill my heart with song

caress me o’soft breeze

and give rise to singing

throughout the trees

beautiful sun full of love

fill the skies with light

to paint the clouds above

awaken o’sleepy earth

and enjoy the dawn

as life is full of mirth...

happiness is the heart

that greets the day

with a loving spark

be you old or young

start each morning

filled with a song

pry open your eyes

wipe away the sleep

enjoy the sun’s rise

and toss off that cover

for time is wasting and

there’s much to discover
