Through The Pain

Ameljor

Pain, will it last?

Take you away

Stuck in the past

Torture your soul

With answers to questions

You no longer know

Think of that time

When you felt so blind

Anger and grief

Entwined in your mind

Now rests in your cells

As your body swells

Is nurtured so deep

Lost is the feeling for relief

Constantly growing with a belief

Your anguish will hold you

Locked in defeat.

When you look in the mirror

It continually shows

Deep inside resounds an echo

A sadness you never let go

How much it grows

Life, so shallow and slow

Reflection of thoughts

So hard to forgo

Of who will you never

Have wisdom to see?

Yourself, through all this misery

If it wasn't for them

Can love transcend?

If it wasn’t for him

Is there love within?

If it wasn’t for her

Will life still be a curse?

What a serious game

Most of us play

Constantly giving power away

Fighting for purpose

And meaningful days

Sacrificing internal light

For this damned external fight

Who will lose this gift of life?

I like your poem . Sometimes it’s so difficult to feel like ourselves when we are in so much pain and that past can really haunt us .

Sometimes life can feel like a test and a struggle and more pain than anything else .. and that’s an awful feeling to have

Yes and pain will take you over and stop you from living life in it’s truest form
