Rotten

Valerie

It’s like you know my every move.

Do you like to see me hurt?

Do you know that you’re the reason

my body is decaying?

You make me feel rotten.

Just another one from the bunch

that went too bad to eat.

I hope there was a moment

when you truly loved me,

so I don’t have to pretend

like everything I think about

isn’t the same in your brain.

Because the things you said

were so real to me.

My nightmares are unconventional.

Every night

I just have to watch you

fall in love with someone else.

In my dreams you look at her

with love in your eyes

And it hurts to know

you’ve never looked at me

that way.
