Teddy.15

New World

There's a Deer outside my garden gate just staring at me with his soft eyes

from beyond his wooden sanctuary
where he usually hides from the shooter

I see the pheasant has come to greet us
he is just walking on the main road
minding his own business

he looks relaxed, as we greet him

Gardens unspoiled
the rubbish that is usually left on the ground

by people who care for nothing
is invisible today
so pleasing on the eye

Even eating at the newly opened restaurant
of years gone by is a pleasantry

all tables being finely spaced so people can actually eat
without touching the shoulders of strangers

Shouldn't it have always been this way?

Wasn't that the wonderful part of lockdown, when the wildlife showed itself. If only humans weren't such bloody awful animals perhaps our wildlife would have the confidence to mix with us without worry. Just as we see them mix with each other (excluding predators) in the wild.

Spacing in restaurants etc, well i don't use them because i don't like crowded noisy rooms/halls so I would have found that more pleasing too.

Lockdowntown was an interesting time/place..... a part of history - i tell my daughter in law it's something she can tell stories about to her grandchildren one day.

Absolutely interesting times and I don't like crowds either so for me it was quite a poetic delight in that sense, also to see all this magnificent nature coming out onto the streets. Thank you Dusky πŸ’–

Love this missy. You are so close to nature here.
"There's a deer outside my garden gate"
          Brilliant.
During the early days of lockdown 1,I saw telly images of sheep wandering around empty roads, here in the UK,and animals behaving very differently to their normal timid behavior.

              That’s a beautiful scene
Maybe the new world isn’t that bad I think
Imagining a deer walking in free
Out of the discovery channel which I am watching when free

I wrote this in 2020 when we were in the first serious lockdown, but isn't it amazing that within all that darkness something of this beauty could be found. Thank you dear Woundedheart. πŸ’–

Eating two metres apart. Chatting up women two metres apart. Shouting, are you doing anything for the rest of your life. Yes, Paul, avoiding you. Maybe better make it a ten-metre rule. lol

So true Teddy, it should have always been this way.

Great writing , teddy πŸ™‚ animals should be free from hurt by humans .

Thank you dear Rose, This was a moment of great joy for me to meet all these animals that usually stay hidden fro man, if there was anything good to come from a pandemic this would be it, for me anyway. πŸ’–
