Questionable Intellect

Valerie

Always the girl

that everyone is in love with

but no one can keep.

If my mind is so intriguing

then why is my body so easy to use?

No person can stimulate my brain

as well as they can pick away at my flaws.

So drawn to these people; I become.

Feeding into their words.

If I’m mentally aware of the ignorance,

then it’s more justifiable

when I reject the next person

who loves my intellect.

How could you love a woman

So, so stupid.

'No person can stimulate my brain
    as well
as they can pick away at my flaws.

    So drawn to these people;
    I become.
a bottom feeder for their words.

If I’m mentally aware of self-demeaning, ignorance
then it’s more justifiable, when I reject
the next person loving-on, my intellect.'
(loved this distillation of a specifically, modern struggle
we're all fighting with, at some level
    as-in
that aspect of our awareness and introspection
    which, taints our perception
    of people's motivation
for what kindness they show us.
we're so used to battling, through and for: everything
that when people throw a few petal words
our way, we find it easier
    to view them subtle attacks..
    and especially that section about
how (your) female body's are treated like
    worthless, use and bin
    sexualised objects
while simultaneously strangers speak of your mind's
    invaluable worth..
    this constantly opposing
    duality's
    tend to grind us down
    over time...')
    a great write! please
    forgive me, for rudely messing
    with your poetry's wording
    I sincerely meant no disrespect
    it was just
my overzealous nature wanting to share
how your poetry expressed itself, to me

I absolutely love that you completely understand the concept of hypocrisy in this piece. I constantly look forward to your comments, thank you for reading!!

Some just want to be loved, and if love is a bit of attention, then that's all it takes. Sadly, we know it as getting used time and time again. Some learn in the end, some don't.
