The Dash Between

chriswylie2

All is dark.

Two candles meet,

join,
shed light upon the dark.

One candle sputters,

dies.

The other slowly

burns

itself

out.

All is dark.

Sounds like an analogy to life and love. Interesting how, when written dispassionately, the words assume such power. Good read.

good write, cw. indeed, the prose is interesting, a metaphor for something i am still trying to understand.

I've always wondered about the dash in between. I'd like it to be my legacy. I enjoyed your poem's succinct message. Well said my friend.
