holding on and letting go

Crystal Hope

wings splattered beneath the water
as the aqua waves ripple and totter.
she blows on a yellow dandelion
swirling to the bristles flying.

emerald acrylic paint bleeds
on the starved growth of her seeds.
tangled bangs cover her storybook eyes
as the heavy chapters fade with butterflies.

erased memories leave pencil scars
dancing on the paper of an empty memoir.
notebook lines dither in the background
like piano keys with no sound.

cushioned between the green leaves
of wandering warmth and grief.
holding on and letting go
buried in the erased dandelion snow.
