Illude

Draven

How could it be
that something,
once so full and rich
is finally over?
The time we spent
together
was wonderful.
Yet,
it had run its course.
We both knew,
for a long,
long time
but no-one wanted
to be the one
who let it go.
Holding on,
letting our imaginations
of the past
and what could be
illude us.
Until it was
finally enough.
It hurts.
But it is
for the best.
I only hope
that
our friendship
remains
and is
stronger.

    2022. New horizons.
If the friendship still remains, that's no bad thing. Always someone to phone for a gab and a drink after work.

    • Draven

Thank you 🙂 Well, we live together haha.

        Lol, that's even handier.

I never realised it was over (lol). I kept on - like flogging a dead horse! lol.
Do shut up sometimes, Orchi. 🙂

          Haha

they often say, there is no 'good'
          in goodbye, I disagree
          there is, undoubtedly!
          its just a hollow, 'good'
          till someone, comes
          to fill: the void
          and remind us, yes
          maybe we too, can find
          that lasting something, all this
          music and poetry
          talk about, relentlessly..
          (a great showcasing
of Poetry's capacity for self expression
          as a bridge
to shedding, those dead skins of regret
          and make room
for the nurturing sunrays, in our hopeful Tomorrow's)
if it hurts, because your love was real
          that's a virtue, not a weakness!

Very true! I am looking to fill my own void 🙂
