Blithe

Draven

With pride comes fall, she heard them say.

After sticking to her routine for a period of time;

healthy habits, careful choices, thoughtful words

she now feels deserving of a break, a treat.

What goes up must finally come down.

A blithe discard of her needs.

Careless indifference.

Her downward spiral starts again.

      mmmm basic instincts win the day yet again..... life goes on.... to what?

      Enjoyed your piece, it made me think about self imposed disciplines.

      • Draven

        Yeah, it is interesting right? I have many disciplines, sometimes it is ok to let them go, but it is always important to jump back into it... I haven't fully figured this out yet...

        A stunningly good end to your poetry challenge Draven - - how true that despite effort we often have to go downwards again for a while.

          Thank you Fay!
