Shadows

Anonymoose

The green eyes glare at their prey.

Tusks dripping with hunger.

Jaws wide open.

The creature bounds towards its prey.

It screams with immense pain.

It dies.

The hunter eats well, but the hunger still remains.

The predator returns to the shadows.

They protect it.

They hide it.

None can see the monster.

But it’s green eyes glow brightly.

Another prey is intrigued by the glow.

It’s too late for it to  realize it’s sudden doom.

The shadow kills, the shadow eats.

The shadow returns to its brothers and sisters.

The shadows protect each other.

The shadows hide each other.

Until the dawn breaks the hunt,

The wrath of night dominates the world.
