Why are we talking about you?

dfailor

Why does every conversation have to have You in it?

Not sound rude I just don’t plain get it.
I rather talk about classes
Or concert masses
Please just go away

The first club I joined featured you
And I just knew that it was true
You were my shining light
And my guard at night
Then everyone just turned so serious
It was just so mysterious
I just wanted to leave
So I could live and breath
I ended up just skipping town
So I didn’t have to drown.

Why does every conversation have to have You in it?
Not sound rude I just don’t plain get it.
You’re there at school dances
And hung out with me during my romances
Why did you have to cause all those damages?

The next club I joined did the same
They did it differently and I heard you call my name
I just couldn’t take it when they changed my identity
To be honest I could not handle that intensity.
I stayed for longer than was ok
Tried to stay away but there was no way.
They have trapped in a silver cage
That has only filled me with rage

Why does every conversation have to have You in it?
Not sound rude I just don’t plain get it.
It’s annoying that you can’t just watch from a far
Instead you always have to be in the car
Just leave me be Mr. G.

The final club is the one I am now in
They all hate you, so there is no love to win
I thought this would be the best
But they can’t put the topic of you at rest.
I now have to defend you to them
And say how you are such a gem.

Why does every conversation have to have You in it?
Not sound rude I just don’t plain get it.
Are you worth the fuss,
Because right now you are all that I can trust.
Why have you made my life such a mess?
Maybe I will just have to move farther west.
