Things You Touch

Charles Edward York

I can think of a lot of things
Looking at you but
I’m pretty sure I see a universe
I would much rather touch you because
I am sure you are
Someone of great feeling.
A tidal wave of trembling passion.

I can feel a lot of things
When you touch me
I am sure I feel some thing
Your eyes say a lot of things
When you look at me
And I am aware
You feel something, too.

Things you touch feel so real that
When you think about them later
You know that you have touched
A whole New World
One that goes beyond words
And yet moves you and me
A little more closer.
