Only Tomorrow Knows

Charles Edward York

Staring at the sea of unknown

I wade into the waves

Uncharted waters

Offering silent invitation

A horizon so wide

The Sun shines endlessly

Giving me a view

No one gone before ever knew.

This is the untold story of yore

Unwritten verses

The dead poets long gone

Never wrote down

Old timers whose face

Lie silently underneath

Cold termination

Forever hidden to dreams.

Blades I once saw solution

Hurt pain and suffering

With permanent answers

Lock themselves away

Hope of invisible help

Among angels of daring

Meet me now in the open

Unguarded realms.

A newfound purpose awaits

Inside the echoes

Filtering inside me as

A personal calling

Unconditional love finds me

An offer beyond refusal

Shatters my shackles

Breaking the self destruct cycle.

Round and round no longer goes

Forward, ever slowly

I walk with my own feet

Inside new and noble shoes

Feeding on a dream

Held up in comforting arms

Yesterday done, I live each day

Confident tomorrow only knows.
