Thoughts 8

Lover’s Loss

I gave you everything I had

My heart, my soul, my mind gone mad

…You never gave a damn for me.

What’s remembered

It’s the whiskey and the music that’s remembered

In the dimness and the smoke of the honkytonk

When your heart has been dismembered

by the lady on the “Buckin’ Bronc”.

Decide

Stop crying over me that sea of blue.

Am I forever losing you

Or are we simply, through?

Heartfelt

This love-lost night falls mournfully

and will linger evermore

For I am feeling poorly now

heartsick at your door.

By the fire

Sitting by the fire

trying to stoke the coldhearted embers

I find no comfort in lost desire

No hope that she remembers.

Sad but such romantic and poetic reflections on what love can put us through Phil.....those last thoughts by the fireside melted this reader's heart.
