1 Dissapointments

Dissapointments don't shake you
Struggles don't break you
Your heart wants to take you

2 Still

I'm tryina shower in the rain and rest beneath the stars
Let's set short term goals to reach our dreams even if they seem so far
You can't quit as long as still beatin' is your heart
Even if you only got to the moon, how special those memories are

3 Tan rubber bands

Pink clouds and blue skies
After dissapointment, you may sigh
Your feelins in your heart lie
Tan rubber bands get a bleached black tee tied
After heartbreak, you may cry
Don't let that take away from the fact you tried

4 I'm tryina

The seagulls flyin' in the distance keep inspirin' me
I see courage admirinly
I'm tryina be the moon's entirely
My deams keep goin' the fire in me

5 Rest

It's dark out and the rains pourin'
Take a break from your vision and ideas you've been explorin'
It got cold this winter, not warm out and at night nor in
Rest from everything you've taken in and take more in

6 The love

So much time spent out by the shore under the sunlight
The love of the goals you plan to reach matter even if your dreams comin' true just might
What a sunburn so pink, so bright
Overcomin' obsticles and challenges are just proof you're reachin' higher heights

7 Your aspirations

If you take a look out into the world, you can see such a wild meadow
As long as you keep tryin', your aspirations with failure, you have met no
That winter breeze blows and it gets cold
The goin' may get tough but remainin' innocent, you'll have kept gold

8 The breeze

A shootin' star across the dark night sky, you'll catapult
Remain the breeze in the air as trasparent as possible
You'll be an orb where deep in the seas goes a giant octopus
Feel reassuread by the warmth which with met is each obsticle

9 The mountains

Out in the horizon, the bright hot sun rises in the east
Deep in the mountains you'll feel you need to be
It's brisk and the mist in air'll make it hard to see
Surroundin' you'll be eagles flyin' high and free

10 Cold busy day

Not too far from the city in a small town's a cold busy day
Masons with machinery out down the road pave
A few guys out by the river cast lines for fish with bait
Still I'm just lookin' for peace somewhere in a quiet place

11 Dreams

By the shore a summer haze
Shade under a tree in front of a lake
Dandelion fluff blows away
Of dreams there're stars made

12 A glimpse

A glimpse at bleach and dirty laundry on plastic tiles
Worn and torn white Classic Vans haven't got more in a while
A quiet suburban area in the middle of the night out about a mile
A light lights a black tee, plaid jacket, blunt and smile

13 Taken away

I'm just admirin' off white seashells
My breath's taken away by all the blue sea swell
My footprints won't remain visible on the wet sand even if you see well
After long hot days under the sun, at night we fell

14 Ironically enough

I don't know, the inner city's just different
There's plenty crowds you might not wanna get mixed in with
Ironically enough we're not so weird because we're all just misfits
I don't know where I belong but how about gettin' my skateboardin' trick fix?

15 It hasn't been

The Bronx Bombers on my back
Kids with beefs drawin' bats
It hasn't been all that bad
I have fond memories of bein' out playin' catch..
Atleast I have that

16 You might get

In parts, street lights light up my small town at night
You might get the impression noone's around in sight
If you're thinkin' there're kids around to rob and jump you.. you might be right
Flashin' before your eyes goes your life

17 Passion and romance

The sun is dawnin' on the road
Passion and romance unfolds
As much as you have to give, dont forget what you expirience told
We're on journeys with paths unknown
Some reach their destination young, some old and others don't
It's not about gettin' somewhere, it's about on the way, makin' the most

18 As far as

Riverside and a whole lota leaves
A road stretches as far as the eye can see
Those pebbles to it's side speak
Down a dirt trail makin' their way are frosty weeds

19 Array of emotions

It's brisk, dark and there's a fog
There were risks and heart as hidden as the path got
I have just been tryina to get to a sand and sun ever so hot
There's an array of emotions, no villain and pot

20 After a few skips

In the sunlight the river glistens
In the sky a bird flyin' fits in
A stone after a few skips begins sinkin'
Outside, held, a gray tabby kitten

  • Comment from author about the poem: ive loved poetry all my life. i was 19 when i had just been declared disabled by doctor but not goverment yet. i missed my old life and was about to go crazy. i didnt really feel bad so i kept on despite the doctor tellin me not to stress. my disability kicked in. i started writing and expressing myself out of fear for years. my first poem i shared on facebook was personal. my disability is fear related. i wrote about 12 poems every winter for about 5 years. i got comfortable with that and wanted to write not out of fear. i did. i got comfortable with that and felt accomplished. then i had told a therapist i loved writing but my style was to let it come to me because i didnt want to sacrifice technical skills. its more stressful than it sounds. he said to write through writers block. i did and wrote out of stress at around the same time. then theres this
