Leaves

Hudson

Riverside and a whole lotta leaves
Dead grass and dirt trails will probably paint a better picture
Not much to see not much to do but
as temps reach sub zero marks, the rough and the wild will continue
over concrete, by squirrels,
after dark in dim lit supermarket parkin' lots and
those one eerie shoppin' carts,
seem to play back over and again
Canadian geese honk and fly off in the distance
They say no one other snowflakes the same
A road stretches far as the eye can see
Those pebbles to its side speak
Frosty weeds make their way from hills to sand and seashells
Foam from the swells will splash up into what can be a shade of grey and or white skies
Theres ice all around.. lakes.. ponds..

  • Comment from author about the poem: ive loved poetry all my life. i was 19 when i had just been declared disabled by doctor but not goverment yet. i missed my old life and was about to go crazy. i didnt really feel bad so i kept on despite the doctor tellin me not to stress. my disability kicked in. i started writing and expressing myself out of fear for years. my first poem i shared on facebook was personal. my disability is fear related. i wrote about 12 poems every winter for about 5 years. i got comfortable with that and wanted to write not out of fear. this is the first of that but originally didnt have a title. i started titling when i wrote my first chapbook because i was asked to do so by a self publishing company but never went ahead with it because my therapist suggested i didnt. to try to get seen. even if i dont become published, ive had fun and hope to inspire those after me

Why therapist suggest you didn't publish? Would it bring more fear?
What's it got to do with him/her anyway, to suggest to that extent?

  • Hudson

she said she didnt wanna call it an advice because advice sounds like something she thinks i should do and be right for me because she didnt want that pressure on her, instead a suggestion, sounding like maybe something i should consider. she said self publishers are known for taking peoples money like her friend
