Bubble Bath

J39014

I watch the water slowly disappearing down the drain

It reminds me of how I watched you slowly disappear from my life.

I see the remnants of the soap left behind in the tub

It reminds me of the remnants of your touch left behind on my skin.

The water is gone, but I still feel it's warmth

I still remember the calmness I felt as I sank into the water.

It reminds me of how you made me feel when you held me close at night.

I rinse out the tub and take one last look

No trace of soap, nothing left behind.

From the outside looking in, you wouldn't know it was ever filled.

It reminds me of us.

No trace of what we had

Nothing left behind.

From the outside looking in,

You wouldn't know we were ever lovers.
