Old Age

In my old age I dream of spending the last few years amidst mountains in a small cabin on the edge.
All alone, companionless but yearning for life
Clinging to few remaining crumbs of memories left in the corners of my old heart
Memories of loving you , holding your hands , shedding tears together, waking up to a spring morning ..waking up to the bright sun ..lost in the trail of thoughts, memories of children's laughter, rains and the scorching heat...so much more yet so less!
I shall occupy a small chair with a kettle by my side
Brewing in the sunshine, perhaps knitting my last dreams ..
Afternoons will be spent in quiet slumber under the sun
As the evening draws closer, curtains of darkness will fall in the corners of my mind
Shadows don't linger on my walls anymore like they used to.
Windows to the world remain misty, blurring an out of focus silhouette at a distance.
I retire for the night with letters from you ..
Words echoing your voice.
As I slowly enter a world of dreams unsure of the next dawn ...

Oh my!!...this is really beautiful,maybe it's because I'm turning 50 next Saturday,..they say It's a milestone birthday,it has a strong impact on me.
