Heart Of Glass

Susanne

Hearts

Hearts are a fragile

Like glass it can be broken but not always mended

If it’s used to much it might just burst

Like a glass balloon flying so high but it shattered to soon

You can see right through or not

It can be as clear as day or as dark as the midnight sky

So many ways to break but not many to fix

Hearts can worn out like sneakers

As soon as its broken not many try to fix it

Most just toss it aside and go on with their way

Not a care in the world

Breaking it without even knowing

Slowly chipping away at it

Until it breaks and there is no more damage to be done

They try to pick up the piece of this shattered heart

Or at least the few nice ones try to

Most just leave after leaching off of the person

Going to their next victim

Leaving the person vulnerable

And it happens again

Over and over and over and over again

The heart is something so beautiful but sad

It’s a double edge sword

It can help and it can hurt

But it can’t be helped to trust someone with it

It’s just human nature

It’s just life
