Stars

beary1112

I always knew the sunrise would

Begin the bright noon,

But I still long for the gentle breeze

Of the midnight moon.

I remember looking up

At the starry night sky.

I still remember the reflection

Of my stars that shone inside.

I knew the sun would rise

And the night would leave afar,

I still miss the moon

But the sun remains a star.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Change happens. You can't stop it, so embrace it. Personally, my friend went through a (positive) change, and although I miss his past self because I could relate to him, I learned to accept it because, at the end of the day, he was still himself.
