Fallen Petals

DestinysPerspectives

I am like a flower.

Each petal peeling away

the blue stained layers

I’ve become inside.

The green stem connecting

me to the roots I was

born too.

The fear stains my soul

that someone might

crush my petals ruining

the beauty that is inside

of me.

I’d rather belong to the

earthly ground where

I can blossom every

new season.

It’s a safer course of

action then belonging

to another’s pocket

who might squash

my petals under the

Weight of his hands.

I might be admired

for my beauty from

up close inspection

but it’s safer for his

admiring eyes from

a distance while I

bloom under mother

nature’s loving embrace.
