What Do I Know Of Love
I know its passion and its laughter
its pain and sorrow.
I know she is here with me today
and yet, I fear tomorrow.
I know the goodness of her soul
and the tenderness of her heart.
I’ve known the delights of her sensuous body
and I fear the horrors of it being torn apart.
I know the joy of love’s fruition
and the sorrow of its loss.
I know the sweetness of her voice
and the agony of her asking, “Make it stop.”
I know the softness of her caresses
and the pain of her nails digging in.
I know our life has been a love story
and yet, I don’t know where to begin.

“Pure fiction”? Well don’t do it then!
While I’m no fan of love poetry, this says something. Ambivalence? – yes….
Thanks DD. It is a result of several different experiences that I mushed together added some imagination and ended up with this. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
Glad It wasn't really pure fiction... Too much truth there to be a random bunch of thought bubbles.
for me, it began
with a phone call and a lively 'heya'
and it continues, even in nightmare 'or fantastically daydream, form'
she may have left, but the love
it continues, because I allow it to..
(thank for sharing, dear poet
a wonderful read
and a realistic portrayal of romantic love)
Thanks L.B. However the experience begins it ends sadly. Thank you for your read and comments.
