Roxy Roller
Roxy Roller skated naked on the stage
And stole my heart.
I was young, but Roxy was about my age
Winter on the Loop
blasted tiny ice pellets
“Duke of Earl” played on the radio
as I waited for the “L”
Wabash to State
“Got to catch Roxy’s show.”
Full house. Grabbed a seat at the back.
Roxy dressed as a Carhop.
“Man is she hot!”
No more uniform…
Roxy Roller skated naked.
I waited in the cold.
Side exit.
Roxy’s only way out.
Doors opened…other girls passed, and laughed.
At last there was Roxy
Bundled up for the weather..
But she was not alone.
“Who’s that with her?
Not too big.
I think I can kick his ass”
But then she kissed him.
I screamed, “Roxy!”
And as she neared she replied
“Hi, this is Suzie.”

So did “Little Suzie.”
