THE NIGHT

Jayy

Remember that night?

When you felt like shit

Wondering if you should approach me

Too scared, too nervous

Cold feet

People watching

Rehearsing our conversation

What you’ll say, what ill say

Hoping ill give you the chance

Little do you know

I was just as scared that night

In my life

Ive walked through hell

Seeing you was my taste of heaven

The crisp air on a spring morning

The smell of mamas cooking

Having you is my pleasure and my joy

In my mind I been trapped

But that night we met

Pure and filled with goodness

As an angel above

Thinking you’re far from my reach

A dove soaring through the sky

I’m in love with you

I wouldn’t dare give your love back to another fellow

When we’re together

The closer we become

The illusion we’re meant to be

Is now our reality

And it goes back to the night we met

    'Cold feet

    Rehearsing our conversation

    What

    Hoping
    i'll give you, the chance

    Little do you know
    I
    was just as scared
    that night'..
    You've emoted such a turbulent
    cornucopia
    of electrifyingly, wondrous anticipation
    in those moments, before
    two strangers - leap
for all the miracle, they ever
    longed for in their lives...!
    (A great write!
    thanks for sharing, dear poet
    and please
    forgive my rude reimagining
    of your lines, while trying
    to showcase
    the points that impacted me
    the most
    I meant no disrespect)
