I dedicated this poem for Black History Month
Like complex wallpaper without the lex
Add white in the mix
Melt the pot when they tax the rich
Oh wait it's only the mid and it becomes real when you become that convict
Like an arrow they shoot to pierce
No hesitation they strike to fear
When the dream comes we persevere
Honestly it feels like a melting pot in here
The heart is where you feel
The brain is where you build
It's like a neighborhood in the hills
Marching just to pay the bill
They just wanted you to stay out pic
So we gathered the kings
While wearing our wings
He gave a speech
Then shots went off and killed our king
But we kept the dream and kept our means
All we wanted was a chance to breathe

- Comment from author about the poem: This Black History month made me feel for the past and present people that are fighting for justice. So I wanted to get in the mind state of how African Americans felt during the 1960. I will say it took a toll on me learning facts that not even schools teach. If you want to donate or buy a shirt I will link the BLM website here. https://blacklivesmatter.com/
