OLD SONG

Alexander Pope III

With Flowers in your hair
Sing me that old song

You may have met the stars
Or just returned from Mars
That is not my concern
Sing me that old song

You may have swam the ocean
Or bend your head with full devotion
to get a life promotion
Sing me that old song

You may be singing like a crane in your brain
And to enjoy the winter rain
longing for a flight over a goods train
Sing me that old song

You may go to your favourite hill station
For a very long duration
Enjoying your snow-cation
Sing me that old song

I may daily feel something new
Some moments may be precious and few
In different directions we all grew
Sing me that old song

I may amaze you with a trick
Still miss to get your best pic
So old memories flick
Sing me that old song

You may burn a incense
To get me some sense
Yet I may have to sit on the fence
Sing me that old song

You visit me in my sleep
And say things very deep
Still journey to happiness is steep
Sing me that old song

I may be trying to find a direction
only with pure intention
lucky with attention
Sing me that old song

I may not be a popular song of a singer
I am a folk song , sung by a street singer
Or a song left unsung by a singer
Sing me that old song

I wish to be a talking parrot
With desires of chilly and carrot
Squawking and doing tarot
Sing me that old song

I am a time-traveller from your old day
Who forgot something important then to say
Not finding now a way to say
Sing me that old song

If you do not sing to me your old song
Your eyes will sing for me
Your smile will sing for me
All that is good in you will sing for me
