Loving you was like...

dakotac814

Loving you was like

A warm summers day

Running along the beach

The cool water caressing our skin

And the sun gently kissed our cheeks

And the clouds sprawled across the sky

Covering the light

And the rain began to pour

The bright zig zags of light

Struck the ground surrounding us

And the sky sounded as though

It was plummeting

I grab your hand

Imploring you to follow me

But you were captivated

In the darkness

And I can’t save

Someone who resists

To see the light

I never wanted to run

But I couldn't bare

To watch the dark sky

Smother you

As you stood there

With a smile

    wonderful read, thanks for sharing
and forgive me for making a connection
but I couldn't help but be reminded
of a song by Tina Dico
    titled 'he doesn't know'
    when reading your words

I might have to give that song a listen! Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂

Beautiful poem. Please do me a favor...on your personal description you stated "I know I'm not that good"-PLEASE remove that. ALL poetry is ART. Don't discredit your talent. Happy Writing:)
