I worry when you don't look at my body,
for the boys of my past
have done nothing
but only validate my figure.
Do you see me
if I'm more than just a body for you?
If not constantly oversexualized,
then what good does my presence hold?
Trying my hardest to hold your interest
without putting myself out.
Hoping the view
is still as good
when it's just my smile.

I love this.... Its very well written
there's a song by India Arie
titled 'Private Party'
whose lyrics include these poignant lines below:
'I'm having a private party
Ain't nobody here but me, my angels, and my guitar, singin'
"Baby, look how far we've come, yeah"
I'm havin' a private party
Learning how to love me
Celebrating the woman I've become, yeah
I'm gonna take off all my clothes
Look at myself in the mirror
We're gonna have a conversation
We're gonna heal the disconnection
I don't remember when it started
But this is where it's gonna end
My body is beautiful and sacred
And I'm gonna celebrate it'..
(see personally, write like yours
and music with lyrics like India
is what female empowerment
and gender equality, should represent
'in my humble opinion'..
it's begins, with that veracity
in answer
to that ever-doubtful, reflection
in the mirror!
celebrate your beauty, it is yours
but never, be defined or limited
by it - alone!
'and if your partner, can't see beyond
then that's their loss
and your que, to move on...')
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Don't worry! I know it's scary, but I have a feeling this guy wont be anything like the others. Trust. 🙂
Some guys like to see what else is in your body, and most times that would be you. Keep smiling.
