Mothers Wishes

Ake Matt

She ran through the forest

In the bitter cold

Searching for someone to hold

She screamed for someone to listen

And her eyes began to glisten

But like a life line she heard the sound

Of faint laughs and music all around

She followed it like the girl in red

The sounds of the beast chasing her

She just had to get ahead

The sounds of hunger so close behind

She hoped she’d make it in time

That just like the story she’d be fine

It happened so quickly

The beast had caught her so wickedly

And like the evil story told

He began to feast two fold

And as her world began to fade

She soon realized she hadn’t been saved

If only she’d listend

To her mothers wishes
