life going sour

Jay-Lee Jane

Notice of absence from Jay-Lee Jane
just returned after losing my love for writing

I can pinpoint the time in my life when it starts to go sour,

that moment, that memory where i'd lost all my power,

and my anger, self hatred blossomed like a flower;

when he looked at my flesh torn legs just to stutter and cower.

Blood still oosing from open wound,

my soul so empty, was locked in a tomb,

the look in his eyes: the disappointment consume:

and that look, that feeling; thats all that would loom.

that moment, that memory, is burned in my mind.

the change in emotion from so gentle, so kind.

those positive emotions i cant seem to find:

he leaves me battered and bruised as im falling behind .

his eyes, his eyes,

oh no, oh why,

the pain it cries,

with that look in his eyes.

that moment, that memory, that god-unholy stare,

that memory, that moment where my soul was so bare,

it was then, right then, that my heart would tear,

as in that memory, that moment; nobody would care.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A poem about the darkest part of my life when i was suffering mentally and internally without anyone noticing. Suffering with an addiction with self harm and su!cidal thoughts. The one person i showed myself too, the person i trusted. made me feel like i was worthless and didnt even care.
