Decay of Sapience

Alexander J. Wolfe

This new world is an enigma

So many, just caught in foolish stigma

Looking to the sky and reflections of illumination

Stars dimmed by billions of glowing mirrors

Glowing mirrors of dysfunctional communication

This is a new age

An age of ages forgotten

Students in history never gleaning a page

Caught up in mentions and comments of those unmet

Caught in a web of billions of posts and Facebook pages

Screens shouting what is wrong and what is right

Minds never questioning for themselves

Only finding answers from those that don't share their intuition and inner light

Where have we gone wrong to lose the reverence of those creators passing their flame from age to age?

Mores the pity. The irony is that we are surrounded by technology and yet lack depth and sense. Quite a strange combination, really. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, these days so many people look from approval from social media and other people. Not gonna lie, I'm guilty of that myself sometimes. But it's a working progress!
