It was that smile,
The first time I saw it,
I knew I wanted to see for the rest of my life,
It was that conversation,
When we first struck it,
It hit right with my heart,
It was only you,
The kind of story I hoped to tell,
To tell each everyone I knew,
My love for you could never be explained,
It was only meant to be felt,
With the deepest part of my soul,
Because only you knew it's depth,
I don't know why you chose to plant a seed,
In my heart,
Yet you knew you weren't ready to care for it,
You weren't ready to water it and let it grow

but still, that seed remains
and should you strive to find your own waters, for it/for you
or other's, that are competent gardeners
you'll soon have a forest of love and hope
budding, with that self reliant resolve..
and maybe then, it will be you
planting seeds and watering
the nurturing needs of another
lost, in the dessert's of loneliness..
(trust and dependence
are two very difference concepts
we should Trust our partners
but never be too, dependant
on them
or have them be too, dependant on us..)
another wonderful read, dear poet
really like the way you unfurled the steps of a typical relationship with each cascading line
it made the narrative, twist
in your final two lines much more effective..
thanks for sharing!
Thanks dear poet for the advice, that's really wise, especially the dependency part,,, before I forget I really admire your knowledge of poetry, you're great.
Job,you seem like a great guy, your perfect match is out there somewhere, someone who deserves your love, keep your faith
