Liberty and justice for all (by their acts ye shall know them)

sorenbarrett

With hunger you came to our domain

We gave you the sweet potato, beans, and corn

We failed to understand your hungry demand

Not for food, but the gold with which we adorn

In return, our crops you burn,

Starving us on the land where we were born

We died in your revolution, for your constitution

Your liberty we helped to rise

Copying our democracy, with hypocrisy,

You took justice's blindfold to cover God's eyes

In your ravages, you call us savages

But seeing what you've done, even Satan cries

Our land you took, our friendship forsook

You came to escape religious persecution

Those that didn't worship your God, under foot were trod

Their souls saved by righteous execution

In a land under God, don't you think it odd

A people not protected by the constitution?

Killed under flags of truce we suffered your abuse

You call yourselves Christian

You butcher the old, raped our women that are sold

Into prostitution

Burned alive, crucified

Your country's final solution

Our skins you tanned, for the reins in your hand

To ride over the broken bodies of our dead

From little children, scalps you tore, gutted fetuses from their mothers core

Our skins left bloody red

Breasts and scrotums taken, for tobacco pouches you're make'n

For peace pipes, where broken treaties are read

Our history erased, from the land effaced

With blankets, smallpox deliberately spread

The buffalo, all laid low

Where there's no food, all are dead

Infanticide, genocide

God was on your side you said

You treated us like a fool, sent us to school

Teaching us our own people to detest

Dressed like you, our hair too

Unable to vote, in our own land, an unwanted guest

Like a vulture you ate our culture

Vomiting what you couldn't digest

Each treaty, perfidy

With tears we water our trail

Our dedication to the preservation of nature and creation

Now polluted rivers and strip mines prevail

With deceit, you did us defeat

There's nothing more eloquent than a rattelsnake's tail”

Isn't it strange that the same race is now making the weapons for other countries to do the exact same thing as their ancestors did. If anything, the power has got stronger.
