It Almost Rained

Leah

The doleful clouds move ominously across the skies

Blanketing the once blue heaven

as the azure sphere forcefully peeks through

And like a child, lonely, weeping for his mother

The sky cries, tiny sad droplets.

The last bird seeks shelter from the drizzle

now there is not one to  be seen

And as the gloom covers the world more and more

A rainbow appears, bright, beautiful

full of hope

And to secure that hope

Faint, hardly visible is another colourful ring

The inverse of the first, coddling the smaller vibrancy

within its love

The tears stop

The rainbows fade

But the sky is still sad
