Half There

truman.anderson

Leaving before sunrise,

My bed half unmade

My problems half unsolved,

I leave them in the shade.

My bag half packed, but I'm

half an hour late.

Room half clean, I'll

return to a sorry state.

Following the fog,

I float out the window,

only half awake.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this in my notebook after I woke up at the crack of dawn to go on a 7 hour drive with my friends. I was thinking about how my life at home was moving on without me, and I had to leave right in the middle of something I was doing, generally speaking.
