In The Northwoods

Jane Clemons

...the leaves, the wind, and the moon spoke of love...

We frolicked in the sunlight and

Autumn played in our hair

Voices were heard and there was

Laughter

The clouds rested as the

Fire crackled

Twigs were picked up and burned

Hazy smoke met a late summer

Day

We said hello to fall as children

Played

Adler and I quietly explored the woods

Where pine cones were examined

And bagged

He held one up to the sky and deemed

That it was

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

I laughed and hugged him and

Twirled him in the air

Marie followed

And walked barefoot with care

There was earth and acorns galore

I wouldn't have wanted it any other

Way

The sun just smiled

And then there was the night

The stillness in the cabin as grandchildren slept

And dreamed dreams

Those starlight moments between

Dusk and dawn

The hours before the children awoke

Morning waiting

For their next song

Treetops spoke of love as

Earth met sky

They held my heart

Hello. lol. Well, I was on about, if it was a fun poem, I would add :'OK, I won't go; I'll come back; dunno why I went away in the first place!' heehee. Me talking rubbish basically.
