Us, again

L. B. Mek

You’re back, like early Spring

and each new moment

feels delicate, like a budding leaf

this time, we won’t let passing seasons

make us falter

we’ll hold on

through, rusting

of Autumn’s leaves

and that bitter bleak of Winter’s freeze.

No, this time we’ll find our way

to that highlight Summer

of our love’s: happily ever-after.

      Holding the tears
I wish to connect the dots
      The dots of the laughter
      The dots of smile
      Holding the past treasured
      While cherishing the present inside
      A beautiful poetry dear Mek
Love and seasons resonating and amplifying in life….

'Love and seasons resonating and amplifying, life….'

        Lovely and uplifting!

        • L. B. Mek

          thank you, Dove
if a love poet of your calibre approves
          then I'll assume
this was one of my better efforts

Very romantic, I hope that the person it was written for appreciates its beauty. I particularly enjoyed the last stanza, it gives such a feeling of permanence.

          • L. B. Mek

            I'll admit, I'm a bit of a cynic
            so 'happily ever-after's'
are as good as mythology, in my eyes
            but when you witness it
in other peoples lives, you can't help
but wish it to be something tangible
            at least for their sake..
and thank you, the last line of your comment
            is a wonderful wording
of the hope we all aspire for!
(even us grumpy old cynics) lol

Summer of love expressed so well I can't wait to lay down and watch the world go passed... without all the layers covering my arse....

            • L. B. Mek

              lol
(guess it's those Kylie short-shorts for you soon, my friend)
and thank you, for reflecting the light-hearted tone
of a burgeoning romance I tried to convey in my scribble

Us may only be x1 letter more than I but dont it feel so much bigger & better than that ..

p.s the more often I visit these words, the greater the depth I find here ... as far as poems go, this is splendid ...................... Neville

'Us' may only be x1 letter more
                than 'I'
but don't it feel so much bigger & better
                than that ..
(best poem on this page, by a mile!!!)
                thank you, Hyung

                    what a wonderful prayer
                    and yes, love needs confidence
                    to succeed, tepid feelings
tend to get distracted, too easily..
                    thanks Andy

I like how you use the changing seasons as a backdrop to the uplifting tale of love returning. The images of the budding leaf, rusting of autumn’s leaves, the bitter bleak of winter’s freeze and the highlight of summer are incredibly beautiful. Also, I like how you show love’s determination not to let these passing seasons make you falter, and that you are determined to fight your way to love’s happy conclusion. Overall, an uplifting, determined poem that celebrates the invincibility and strength of true love. The last stanza seems to imply that last time the lovers somehow lost their way to the highlight of summer. The ‘No’ of determination sounds out triumphantly: We will make it work this time! Excellent poem, LB.

                        I was so nervous,
and yet here your words, surpass
                        even my wildest of hopeful dreams;
I cherish you taking the Time
                        to break it all down
                        and review my effort
                        with such forgiving eyes.
                        (Humbly, I thank you
                        with utmost sincerity.)
'The ‘No’ of determination sounds out triumphantly: We will make it work this time!'
I pray that you do and wish you the very Best!

                              right? I said recently
'only those who fight to survive and make it
                              to the morning's Dawn
can have a chance of witnessing that promise held
                              in a New Dawning'..

""""""this time, we won’t let passing seasons

a deep desire of lover making love an eternity; subject to not any season and clime, ...... poetic in true sense!
