Statistics say
Most young African American young boys
Don’t reach the age of 18
And i passed that
Statistics say most African American males
Don’t reach the age of 21
And I beat that
Statistics also say a population of males
Don’t reach 25
But today
I made it
They say most African Americans males
Would be dead or in jail
But I haven’t seen neither
And I’m thankful and grateful
I’ve came a long way
From the good to the bad
The ups and the downs
The rock bottoms to building back up
I’ve done lost some people that
Will always remain non my heart
Gained so many angle to keep me straight
This life has been one
Hell of a rocky road
But I made it passed a huge chapter that was built
May I embrace this chapter
May I cherish this chapter
Use this chapter to move in a way
That only success and greatness
Come running my way
Allow my self to be the best that I can me
The best father that’s Ik I can be
Be the friend that I need to me
Be the son I need to be
Be the brother I know I can be
The grandson I know I can be
Not more poor decisions
Think clear
And move forward
Leave the past in the past
And allow god to bless me with this new chapter that i thought I would never see
