Life

Charmaine Bartlett

Life has seared my heart's lungs,

and left me gasping-

shattered, destroyed.

I stand yet again,

with questions untold.

Sorrow and pain known well,

like old friends.

Despair, Loneliness.

These I have known

with desperation untold.

Yet, cherish I this time,

and each moment revere.

Loving eyes and children's words

bring sweetness to my soul

with passion untold.
